Technical Sales Manager
Role
- Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve company sales targets and expand market share.
- Identify and cultivate relationships with potential clients, including engineering firms, contractors, and industrial facilities.
- Provide technical expertise and support to clients, understanding their needs and recommending appropriate solutions.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to create promotional materials and campaigns to attract new customers and retain existing ones.
- Conduct market research to identify emerging trends, competitor activities, and new business opportunities.
- Prepare and present sales proposals, quotations, and contracts to clients, negotiating terms and closing deals.
- Monitor sales performance, analyze sales data, and generate reports to assess progress and identify areas for improvement.
- Lead and motivate the sales team, providing guidance, training, and support to maximize their effectiveness and productivity.
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and trade shows to promote products and services and build brand awareness.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders.
- Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including engineering, marketing, and operations, to ensure seamless execution of sales strategies.
- Provide technical training and support to sales team members to enhance their product knowledge and selling skills.
- Forecast sales projections and develop budgets to support sales initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance sales processes and efficiency.
- Act as a mentor and coach to junior team members, fostering their professional growth and development.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism and integrity in all interactions with clients, colleagues, and partners.
Experience & Qualification
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in technical sales, preferably in the engineering or industrial sector.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
- Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving business growth.
- Strong technical aptitude and understanding of engineering principles and products.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Willingness to travel as required to meet with clients and attend industry events.
